Great American Springtime/Easter Egg Hunt
with messages in an egg
Springtime Egg Hunts can be turned into keepsake events by simply adding messages in each egg with a sweet treat, such as a Hershey Kiss. These slips of paper –“messages” can be words of encouragement, written from the heart such as “I love you” or could be a request asking each child to “quack like a duck” and have a good laugh! They also could be a series of sentences that come together to tell a story, with the final sentence in the golden egg.
You may engage the children prior to the egg hunt and let them help create the messages, or choose a favorite story to pull sentences from and then cut apart. Included here is a list of suggested messages.
Our event here features refillable plastic eggs in bright colors, a Hershey Kiss and a special message to the child. For large groups of children, please allow for 4-6 eggs per child. For creating messages for large groups when you wish to repeat sentences, we recommend using Avery’s label templates found within WORD (tools, click on envelopes/labels/choose label size – shipping). - For the golden egg: spray paint – gold or cover with gold marker
Instructions
- Create messages first and print and cut apart!
- For large groups of children, use Avery templates for labels.
Assembly
- Place Kiss and message inside of egg and close
- For golden egg: place numerous kisses and a “special prize”
