Beaded Wrapped Pens

Plain pens can be transformed into fun, cool wrapped pens by using Kreinik metallic threads. Then use your beady pen to write letters, journal, or do anything your heart desires (the pens make great gifts too).
Materials needed:
- pens (rounded pens are best)
- Kreinik Tapestry #12 Braid in your choice of metallic colors
(we like bright colors such as 006 Blue, 014HL Sky Blue Hi Lustre, 056F Glow-in-the-dark Bluberry, 024 Fuchsia, 002 Gold, and 015 Chartreuse) - Diamond Beadlets® or colored micro beads
- 1" Treasure Tape roll
- flat-backed rhinestones (optional)
- shallow pan or tray
Instructions:
- Simply cover your pen lengthwise using the 1" Treasure Tape.
- Peel off red liner to expose the sticky top, then start wrapping your Kreinik metallic thread around the pen. You can also add flat-backed rhinestones to dress up your pen even more!
- When decorating is complete, dip the pen into Beadlets to cover all remaining sticky areas.
Tips: When applying "stringy embellishments" like ribbon, embroidery threads and fibers to double-sided Treasure Tape, you can easily pull up the design and start again if you make a mistake or want to try a different design.
